Milroy’s single cask 5 year old

Nose

Unmistakably Laphroaig. The nose opens with the medicinal peat smoke but soon mellows with creamy, almost lactic aromas with puffs of icing sugar. Sweet malt, citrus and light menthol note akin to eucalyptus.

Palate

Creamy mouthfeel leaving a waxy coating on the palate. The high alcohol level is not immediately noticeable. Initial crème brûlée & lemon meringue pie is then joined by a pleasant spice. The peat is surprisingly discreet but arrives in the form of coastal brine and smouldering embers. The finish is long and mouth watering.
